TheAccademia dei Maestri del Lievito Madre e del Panettone Italiano presents the first edition of the World Team Panettone Championship, a prestigious event that will see the best Master Lievitistas from different parts of the world compete and parade at the opening ceremony scheduled for Oct. 9 at Eataly Verona.
From Oct. 10 to 13, competitions will be held in which each team, consisting of three members plus a coach, will have to demonstrate their skills in making 10 identical panettone cakes, produced in three versions: classic Italian panettone, chocolate panettone with chocolate dough, and innovative leavened “savory panettone.” The panel of judges, composed of national team managers and outside judges, will be asked to express their preference through strict evaluation criteria covering the yeast products produced, waste reduction, teamwork, cleanliness and final presentation. The ranking will be given by the sum of the scores obtained by the teams in the different categories.
The event will find its culmination on October 14 at HostMilano where the winning team of the first Panettone World Championship team trophy will be proclaimed, along with the presentation of special prizes awarded by the Jury Presidents.
