We believe in a more ethical and sustainable world
At the end of 2023, the Steering Committee decided to start the process necessary for the Group’s operating companies to obtain B-Corp certification.
This commitment, coordinated directly by the General Manager, implies a formal
adherence to the principles of sustainability and responsibility. In fact, the B-Corp certification process requires the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives into all Company activities. This means that the Company is committed to operating not only for profit but also for the common good, promoting practices that respect the environment, support local communities, and follow transparent and ethical management.
Agugiaro & Figna
is Benefit Society
As a Benefit Corporation, Agugiaro & Figna intends to pursue multiple purposes of common benefit and to operate responsibly, sustainably and transparently toward people, territory, environment and other stakeholders, contributing to the spread of a more sustainable business model geared toward preserving the Earth for future generations.

The Wood of the Mill
The project combines the culture of doing business with ethics, eco-sustainability, culture and aesthetics.
A project
for the future
“The land was not given to us by our fathers but was lent to us by our children” (Amerindian Proverb). The idea that inspires The Molino Woods is to give back to the land and to future generations the best possible living conditions. Safeguarding the land means protecting ourselves and everything that originates from it.
A project
for sustainability
“Appreciating what remains of the earth and encouraging its renewal is our hope for survival” (Wendell Berry). The planting of the Forest will offset the CO2 generated in a year by the company’s activities by restoring its biodiversity to the environment, creating an ecosystem in perfect harmony with the environment, ensuring its preservation.
A project for all
“If we want to improve the quality of the environment in which we live, the only way is to involve everyone” (Richard Rogers). The Forest is a garrison of future sustainability. It will host research, education and culture projects for academia, our customers, our suppliers, and our employees.
Other Projects
The MillGarden
The Molino Garden is home to an olive grove and an orchard on 4,000 square meters, with a 144-square-meter horticultural area where ancient flavors can be recovered and cultivated for use in various baked goods, including pizza.
3Bee
In our Molino Forest, we care for biodiversity and strive every day to leave a positive mark on the environment. Together with 3Bee, the nature-tech company that protects pollinators, irreplaceable sentinels for the health of our planet, sensors have been installed to monitor biodiversity within the forest, as well as having adopted a beehive. Thanks to the arrival of a hive monitored with 3Bee’s advanced technology, the Molino Forest becomes even more “alive.” Bees find a safe home here, and we at Agugiaro & Figna can make our contribution to pollination and biodiversity protection.
We believe that doing business also means giving back to nature and future generations.
Energy Sustainability
Agugiaro & Figna sources green electricity, with certificate of origin guaranteed by GSE. Specifically, also for 2023, 100% of the electricity purchased from the grid is produced from renewable sources. In addition to electricity (representing about 98 percent of total energy consumption within the organization), the four factories also consume a small amount of natural gas for space heating.
The MB paper
The Project “Strengthening the sustainable soft wheat supply chain according to the rules of the Mill Charter – MB Charter” has been funded under the 2014-2020 RDP Emilia-Romagna Region (Measure 16.1.01, Focus Area 3A). The objectives of the Project are to organizationally strengthen the sustainable soft wheat supply chain “Carta del Mulino”, refine it from a scientific and methodological point of view, and improve its supply chain services and agronomic management.

OIRZ
The story of OIRZ began in 2020 from the desire to generate a virtuous supply chain for the production of zero-residue wheat flour to protect the consumer and the territory. The green hills of Umbria, the green heart of Italy, are the ideal place to develop this project.
Our supply chain starts from the seed, the first link in a journey that reaches your tables. From sowing to tillage, from harvesting to storage to flour production and packaging. A guaranteed, genuine, sustainable and completely transparent path.

Pizzaiolo
for Change
We support the work of pizza makers with quality flours from protected supply chains and improve our impact on the environment every day. Today we want to bring this commitment to our customers’ pizzerias. We are looking for Pizzaioli who inspire colleagues to become more sustainable, in terms of ingredients, worker well-being, and waste reduction.
The Pizzaiolo for Change movement represents a new era for the pizzeria, where sustainability and quality work come together to create a positive impact on the environment and the community.
Italian panettone:
methods compared
The “Panettone Italiano” project was created with the aim of celebrating Panettone, an undisputed symbol of Italy’s confectionery tradition, by exploring its many interpretations and methods of production throughout the country. Through collaboration with the best artisan pastry chefs, the project aims to codify the methods and recipes for producing this iconic dessert. A comparison that will serve to bring out and enhance the different techniques equally as they are all equally suited to making an excellent product.
Scugnizzi Association
The Scugnizzi Association, in which Agugiaro & Figna is a partner, launched the “As long as there is pizza…there is hope” initiative in 2010 with the goal of helping young inmates at the I.P.M. of Nisida learn the pizza-making trade, enabling them to enter the world of work. Through this project, 10,000 free pizzas and drinks per year have been ensured in a warm and cozy place.
